I was told that I needed to announce my dissassociation before two elders in person, which did not ever happen because my father-in-law stepped in, but apparently they reconsidered and counted my phone call to two different elders as enough and announced I had DA'd.. when all I wanted to do was the fade because of my now ex's family who were all JWs in our state.

Can You be announced DF w/Out a JC Meeting?
by mama1119 inmy parents just got a phone call from a longtime inactive witness who heard from his very active witness wife that they were announced df'd.
we don't know if its it true or not becuase none of us go to meetings anymore and have no inside sources at the hall to tell us (as we are apostates, who would tlak to us????
) the elders have tried a couple times to talk to them but my dad avoids them.

i was raised in it and don't even know what "they" are.

core beliefs== a being that knew nothing and had no one to learn from spawned another just like him though significantly inferior, then between them figured out how to make others and an entire universe which quickly spun out of control.... who is really surpized?
and since then he has attempted to bring everything back together again making some very grandious promises and then renigging on all of them and blaming those he promised because of their weakness, which presumably he was smart enough to know in advance...so he tricked them and duped them and still demands blind obediance and trust and cant figure out why so many reject him

I find honesty is the key== I dont know... and I would not respect ANY god that dis-respects honesty. if I can only be saved by lying to myself, what kind of salvation is that?

I corinthians chapter 11 verse 17 onwards???
by evergreen inok, i was reading this chapter today in my back garden and was astounded at what i had just read.
every year as long as i have been a witness vs 28 is mentioned that a man should examine himself under scutiny before eating the bread and drinking the wine.
obviously implying that only the anointed are to partake of the emblems etc.

I believe it was my last memorial that I too, noticed that Judas was still present at the memorial even though the brother on the stage was telling all of us that he was NOT present in absolute terms.... one of the many ways JWs test who is still under hypnosis?

the ones I have met that came back while I was still in, never bothered to do any research into any other way.... while out they were still of the opinion that JWs had THE TRUTH and so they only felt inadequate and not up to God's forgiveness, etc.

however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

they will announce that the entire governing body has decided to come clean and admit they dont believe anything that has been printed so far
and will sell the whole society holdings to a major publishing company and give every JW a rebate from the proceeds

the all knowing god?
by the dreamer dreaming indont know if this has been discussed or not...but.... it always bothered me when people claimed that god is all knowing... what exactly does that really mean or can mean?.
after all, according to all, there was some point when only god existed and so its pretty easy to be all knowing when there is nothing to know.. but why should we assume that a being who had no one teach him and nothing to learn from could be anything but insane?.
we should trust god, some have told me, because he made everything and therefore knows everything about what he made... sorry, but that does not follow at all.. my subconscious, apparently, seems to be able to manifest many dreams of very complex things which leaves me puzzled as to their workings not understanding them at all..... the bible shows god to be less than all knowing on many occasions, especially in genesis 18:20-21 where he is going to investigate a report that has come to him.... from where or who we are not told.... but it makes it clear he is desiring to find out if the report is accurate or not... .

Hi River. I have gotten close with many people in my Ward. Certainly, my own views are not the majority, by any means. Yet, I've discovered nine people in my own Ward and several more from other Wards who think as I do. We're members of the LDS Church because it's where we have found the reality of God's love, directly from God and indirectlly through people. Most of these people were born into the Church. That was my criteria for choosing a Church, a religion. My Testimony to the Church is now very strong, very strong. Arguments about history and doctrines go right past me. All I care about is the reality of God's Love that I'm experiencing and living. I suppose I could have chosen to be a Unitarian Universalist, and although most of them are very nice people, and their belief are very logical, I never felt God at all in the Unitarian Universalist church.
seems like this ties in with my other recent topic aobut LOVE... the love people have for a being they dont even really know to exist...can seem so powerful, so intoxicating, that they forsake everything for it.

by the dreamer dreaming ini suspect it is fairly rare for two people to fall "in love" with each other at the same time... it seems to me
that many males will fall in love with just about any female that vaguely says anything approaching yes to their advances
and that they are not nearly as descriminating as females as to who they will have sex with... i could be wrong of course ...

I'd like to understand why you chose the phrase "take advantage of" as opposed to perhaps "respond to" or "take action in response to"?
of course I could be wrong about humans in general...but it seems to me that a lot of people out there get the hook up because of biological impairment on the part of one of the members while the other, in clear rational mind, is using that impairment to his or her advantage... in prostitution, both parties are clear of mind so to speak, though I guess a case could be made that the john is in need of a fix, he is still using his right mind, so to speak in getting it and getting what he wants rather than someone using his impairment against him, as in the case of a rich guy falling for a young gold digger, for example... though, the difference is escaping me at the moment [hmmmmmmmm]... I guess the difference is when he does not know she is a gold digger, see?
or when a horny guy has no real caring over the gal who has fallen for him, but wants the sex...and she gives it up because she LOVES him, etc.

Why is truth is so hard to find in Bible
by The Dragon ini have been studing it for years looking for answers....yet for every answer i find there is a counter to it.
the words themselves are twisted by leaders/teachers to fit their personal opinions and adgendas, as well as twisted by trying to rely on our own reasoning to understand them.. a good example would be the way our current system of laws work.. if the supreme court writes a law into the book..say for example.."evil" is anyone who does this....... it is then turned over to a bunch of undereducated enforcers to interpert and judge others they feel are "evil".
they are allowed to accuse and shoot first asking questions later.

Why did you choose your USER NAME?
by In Between ini think some people actually use part of their real name.
i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.
just thought it would be an interesting topic.

I chose my name because it sums up where my search for truth lead me.... to realizing I can never know much with absolute certainty- if anything at all [still not sure about that one as I do know for sure that there must be at least one absolute]. and that honesty was the cure for religion.
